CL 3.0 98' waterpump & timing belt question.
I have a 1998 CL 3.0-auto trans I got with 70,000 miles and it had the timing belt changed then. It has 145,000 miles now and it's been a great car. Iv'e had to change a Fan motor, thermostat,
altenator and a drivers side window regulator. Other than that nothing has gone wrong, not bad for $6500.00 purchase price.
Here is my question, when is it time for a new timing belt?, sounds like I should get the waterpump done at the same time. Any idea on cost? My kid is going to get this and i'm going to start looking for a 03 s type and it sounds like going with the six speed is a good idea. Thanks for any info.

i'd throw a belt on it if i were you. those motors bend valves when the belt snaps. better to be safe than sorry.
plus, that job is gravy. i do them in like 1.5hrs, but even a rookie could bang one out in less than 3hrs.
