Default race fuel????

ok i have a quetion about 102 octane gas. and here is what car i have. 88 crx with 99 gsr block (stock) with obd 1 b16 head (stock) tranny is a busted lsd xsi tranny

i was curious... what would happen if i ran 102 in my car for a day. i wanna make this as fast as possible for highschool drags and there is a trick fuel station like 3 blocks from my house, i could stop by there and fill up before the races.

would that make my car run WAY too hot?

also. i have a small injector leak... can i buy just injector seals or do i need to get all new inectors?

thanks in advance for the help

The higher the octane # the slower the gas burns. The slower the gas burns, the less power you make. Unless you do something to the motor to justify the 102 octane (such as higher compression, or advanced timing), you will gain nothing by using that gas. Stick to 91-93 octane gas for a stock Gs-R.

If the car were turbo charged, and tuned so as to make use of the higher octane gas (increased boost pressure, more timing) it would help. My point is that simply putting race gas in a car will not make it faster (and likely will make it slower). You have to do something to justify, and make use of the good gas.
