Help w/ Door Lock Actuator
I recently just got the "buzzing" noise when my passenger door locks. I know a lot of Accords have this problem. I was wondering if anyone could help me step by step, possibly, to take a door lock actuator off and re-install a new one. It would be greatly appreciated.
I need to get this fixed ASAP. The "buzzing" noise is starting to get on my nerves. Thanks in advance!

I did this on my two door, it's not too much fun to do and I had to do a little trial and error:
--- Take off door handle (inside)
--- Take off door panel (screw inside handle + screw at top of handle (near power window switch)
--- Starting at the bottom, take off speaker cover and pull door away, it's a **** ton of clips so you're not breaking it - I had to pull fairly hard
--- Once door is off, take off plastic sheet (cut or pull)
--- Unscrew the window guide (screw in bottom right, it's the silver long thing inside the larger hole)
--- Undo the two bolts holding the external handle in (access through small hole and sticker covered hole)
--- pull handle inwards and take it out
--- unbolt the actual locking piece (three screws visible when door open
you should be able to fanagle it out and unscrew it, just kinda do the reverse to put it back in

I'll try this.
1. Remove door handle (the handle that unlatches the door).
2. Unscrew the door handle (the one you use to close the door).
3. Pry off the piece of trim in the corner of the window.
4. Pry off the door panel.
5. Peel back the white protective lining.
6. Unscrew the bolt at the bottom of the door that holds the window track steady (the side of the door that is closest to the rear of the car. Not the hinge side).
7. Unscrew the two bolts that hold the outside door handle to the door (they are inside the door use ratchet extensions).
8. Unhook the two metal rods from the outside door handle. One of these has a threaded end on it. Try to keep the part that screwed on there in the same position after you take it off. There is some paint that helps you know where to line it up.
9. Unscrew the 3 screws that hold the door latch to the door. (edge of the open door. i.e. not the hinge side).
10. Reach inside of the door and pull out the actuator past the window track.
Install in reverse. Be careful you will have a hanging outside door handle that may scratch up your door.

it's not as hard as it's just annoying, I know I fiddled with getting the crap out to work on it for more time than it took to actually replace the darn thing - you do save about $200 worth of work if you have it done at honda
Yeah I know it's annying. I went to the junk yard and tried to get myself a free one, but I gave up after a half hour of getting nothing out.
How much would Honda charge me if I actually brought them an actuator and just had them replace the broken one with a good one? I'd rather not pay $90 for a brand new actuator and then on top of that pay someone to install it for me.

Yeah I saw that the actuator was $90. Before I go and spend $90 on a part like that, I'd rather go see if I can get a free one at the junkyard. Then, if i can get on there, I'll either go to Honda and have them do it (really dont wanna spend $150-200 just to install that) or take it to my mechanic and he could probably do it for cheap. I'd do it myself, but I'm afraid I would mess something up.
Yeah, I have a Haynes manual. I guess once I get the actuator, I'll give it a try since you say it's not hard to do just aggrivating and that it's not that hard to mess up.
Wish me luck!
