Default Philips 4300K or 8000K HID's?

They basically cost the same, the 4300 puts out more light (or so ive heard), the 4300 = bluish light, 8000 = purplish light

which one should i get?
This is my car:

6000k - best of both worlds

Personally I wouldn't get a purplish light. Would just kinda make the car look cheap.

My opinion,

Anything above 4300K is purely cosmetic... some of them might even have tinted capsules If you're just wanting looks, get blue or purple tinted halogen bulbs, don't waste money on HID. If you want functionality get a 4300K kit, they put the most light on the ground.

anyone know of a good place to get them from?

I know the philips (which is what I want) come with 2 types of bulbs, what are they and what are their advantages and disadvantages?

Get them from www.visualdynamics.ca. That is the BEST place by far. They use only Philips components for their kits.

8000k HID's are not purplish..they're just plain purple. Like neon lights, they're too colorful and ghey.

Say no to 8000K HIDs or any HIDS above 6000K for that matter. 6000K is fine.

the nicest looking HID ive seen so far is the new 6000K philips Ultinon bulbs, they put out a great ammount of light and they make stock HID look yellow. Ive had a 4300K kit on my car for about 3 years now, and the only thing im not happy with is the yellow color they put out.. and the fact that the HID lighting on Halogen housings suck..
as you can see.. not very "factory" looking.. but they do perform fairly well. here is a comparison..an audi S4 with stock HID vs. audi S4 with the philips Ultinon 6000K bulbs.

and another comparison. On the left is my light output, my housings are stock 98 integra projectors they're made for halogen bulbs..and on the right, is my friends RSX with the JDM factory HID housings..look at how much better his lights up. his puts out a nice spread with no "hot spots" its like a nice flat blanket of light.

Have you tried adjusting the headlights to point a little farther? That might fix that problem. I dunno, just a suggestion.

http://home.earthlink.net/~hahajoey/crvpix/08.jpg
and i just sold my old setup and got Ultinon bulbs and phillips ballasts....
the new hid's are more blue/purple.. still have a lil yellow left and rated at 6000k i believe.. i like them.. they shine a lil brighter than the 4300k.. 8000k is nasty,.. its just BLUE as hell.. i dunno if u wanna go ricehid.. lol i wouldn't get them... i've been through 3 sets of hid's alreaduy.. first it was 2000 3 series.. then i got sl 500 bulbs on the 3 series ballasts.. now i have this setup.... the philips ultinon bulbs and phillips ballasts(new version with built in ignitor)... and im please with the newest setup..

( a bit exagerates with something like photoshop)

6000K Output......................... 4100 Output

a bit too purple...maybe ill go with the 4300K, the D2S bulbs.

but the 6000K ones will look more like the factory ones on halogen lamps.. 4300K in an HID lamp comes out more purple/blue.. 4300K in a halogen lamp is white with hints of yellow

it's a known fact that 4300K HID puts more light (lumens) on the ground than 6000K or higher.

I have never heard of 8000k Philips kits.. And by the way, you are wrong about the color... The Philips 4300k is a whitish color with yellow in it, and the 6000k, (which I have) are white with bluish tint... I'd get the 6000k, however, if you want the full - REAL Philips kit, go to http://www.hids4less.com/ and they are $750.00 + $19.99 (S&H)
