Default My 2006 Civic Si Weighed on Corner Weight Scales - Time for a diet!

This probably isn't very beneficial for most of you, because there are quite a few variables that could account for different weights, and my car is not very stock so there's not a lot to compare to, since I didn't weigh each part as it was installed and as stock parts were removed.

Take it for whatever it's worth, but I feel like sharing the results of my weigh-in

According to Honda a stock 2006 Civic Si weighs in at 2877lbs with distribution of 61% Front / 39% Rear. (not sure if this is with a full tank, or empty, but those are their official numbers)

It weighed in at 2837lbs with distribution of 63% Front / 37% Rear

I'm actually surprised that with all the mods, it weighs 40lbs less than stock.

I am listing every single mod that may have added or subtracted weight from stock:
1/2 tank of gas
Car has a bit of dirt on the outside (I hate winter) and some sand on my driver's floormat if that matters
Removed spare tire and tools, but left the thick carpeting
Full OEM interior
Dealer installed alarm
Comptech Supercharger kit
Hondata Intake Manifold Gasket
AEM Cold Air Intake System
GReddy EVO2 Cat-back Exhaust
Comptech Short Shifter w/ CorSport Solid Shift Cable Bushings
JDM DC5-R Valve Cover w/ Carbon Fiber Mugen Ignition Cover, Gold Mugen Oil Cap, JDM dipstick, and Mugen reservoir cover)
HFP Full Aero Kit
Seibon Carbon Fiber Hood
Philips 4300k HID Low Beam Conversion
Custom TSX Projector/MDX Shroud Retrofit Headlights
25% Tint - who knows... it may have added a few ounces... haha
Mugen License Plate Bolts
AJP Center Console Dual Gauge Holder
AEM Boost Gauge
AEM Wideband UEGO Controller
JDM Squash scented air freshener
OEM 17" wheels and Michelin Tires (NOT HFP)
Tein Super Street 16 way Adjustable Dampers
SPC Camber Kit Front and Rear
Tanabe Sustec Under Brace
Progress 22mm Rear Swaybar
Carbing Upper Front Tower Bar
Pioneer AVIC-Z1 In-dash DVD Navigation System

Just in case anyone cared to know

As a side note, I found that the girl that I was with at the time had an 11lb purse.

Haha.

All sounds cool. Its nice to know that these new civics aren't much heavier than dc2's with all the extra goodies they have. I would be willing to bet that Honda's #'s are pretty spot on (wet weight of course) with all stock parts. I bet that SC kit and spare removel had a lot to do with the weight distribution. Thanks for sharing the info, nice car BTW! How do you like daily driving the car with the SC?

Haha yea... I think the SC, CF hood, spare removal and fuel level played a part in the F/R distribution.

I don't daily drive the car, but I drive it every weekend, and some weekdays for fun, but I absolutely love the SC. Power is there when I need it, and when I don't I'm not boosting. No BOV so it's kinda sleeper, but the SC whine gives it away for anyone who knows what the whine really is

Haha yea... I told her she needs to leave that **** at home! haha jk

No my weight was not included. I'm about 200lbs or so. So with me, it would put the car just over 3000lbs.

Did you get the crossweights? If so would you be willing to post that?

At a local performance shop. Why?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by HondaF1Fanatic &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Did you get the crossweights? If so would you be willing to post that?

Sure... Crossweights are 50.29% (RF + LR / Total) and 49.7% (LF + RR / Total)

LF: 881 RF: 895
LR: 532 RR: 529

Again, this is without me in the car, for what it's worth.

Are Honda's numbers with a full tank or an empty tank of fuel?

Figure 1/2 tank of gas when full would add about 30-35 lbs. to the rear of the car.

Nice on the cross weights tho.

I just checked and curb weight includes a full tank of gas, and all other fluids (oil, coolant, etc) but no passengers or cargo.

Half tank of gas would be 6.6 gallons (if it was exactly half) * 6.5 lbs per gal = 42.9lbs

So, if that's the case, I'm still pretty damn close to the stock curb weight with a decent amount of aftermarket parts.

Thats pretty amazing actually! Im pretty dang impressed; you won't usually find a FWD car that is cross weighted so nicely. With those coilovers you could balance that car out nicely without going overboard on heigh differences at each corner.
Not that its that important for 98% of people anyway, but those 2% know what Im talking about.

I haven't even bought my si yet (Im a 240 guy) but I am continually impressed!
