LOL yeah... the real race cars use that coating because they acid dip their entire cars for seam welding, cage work, etc.. then they spray that thick coating on to protect the surface and prevent rust.

painting your engine bay that color is wack. <U>Basically going for the track look/'style'. Very poseur-ish. Equivilent to rocking Rota wheels like the elite would say.</U>

well thanks for all the great answers! under the hood of vsm cars is a chalky gray color from the factory and mine is scratched from swapping motors. I like the look of the "battleship gray" and I don't really give a expletive of your opinion about me painting my bay that color. I simply asked how I could duplicate it.

By no means am i hating but you make it sound like the way you chose to do your bay is the only "right" way.
