If you have the money go twin disc and get it over with. If you are going budget then a ACT sprung 6puck w/ extream pp will hold 408lbs/tq. Just won't be quiet as street friendly but I got use to it pretty quick.

Tilton or Exedy Twin discs are the baller clutchs

With which PP Tony? I really dont want a Twin Disc due to reading that They like to Warp when used as a Street set up.

Depends. The standard pressure plate shouldn't have a problem holding 500whp, but the upgraded plate will definitely hold more. For the small difference in price, for what you're doing, i'd recommend going with the upgraded plate. At 500hp on slicks, it's a wise investment.

I don't recommend twin disk clutches for 500whp.

why?
They certainly hold power well. The Tilton I have (not carbon) is grabby but you can adjust to it fairly well. Pricey, but effective on my daily driver. (465 whp) Usually use 325 whp (10 psi) setting. Great product support from Tilton.

Tilton twin disks don't last very long on street cars.

I haven't seen any problems with the CC twins and street use, but i really don't have that much experience with the CC twins on the street. I've been using Tilton stuff for a long time, so i have more experience with them and i've seen issues with them and street use.

ohh, what kind of issues? like warpage or duration?

because i was heavily considering a twin over a stage 5 (competition brand)

my main concern is longevitiy and it needs to hold the power down too lol

Like disks prematurely wearing and pressure plates, floaters, and flywheels warping.

I've seen the Tilton carbon fiber discs wear quickly on street use but have had good experiences with the standard facing on twin discs. Only problems I've had is the clutch engaging with the pedal fairly close to the floor on an H22 92 hatch. . Also, the usual on/off nature of the clutches engagement.(esp. in reverse)
Read good things about Cusco twins - but have no personal exp.

Why would the clutch engagement be different in reverse?

We've run a full season on a Tilton carbon/carbon, 850+hp, 28" slicks, and wheelie bars. Sent it back to get freshened up for the next season and got it back with the spec sheet. It wore .005" in a full year of racing....

i'd vouch for the CC twin disc. streetable and held 450+whp. i loved it. they come with a flywheel that had a replacable friction surface too. quality was good as well.

Don't know why reverse is particularly bad but it is almost impossible to slip. It just lurches. Best luck I've had is letting the clutch out until it's barely starting to engage and holding it there. It then kind of engages itself.
