NA without vtec??? man people are getting ******* unrealistic....
GOING NA on a ******* 4 cylinder engine is bad enough.... but now your gona give it an even bigger obstacle.... NA setups need to rev wayy higher because thats where most power is made on a lil 4 cylinder engine.... but if the head cant deliver enough air or release enough exhaust your gona go nowhere fast.
Ive noticed that lots of people that want NA setups either dont have the money for a turbo setup or dont know a lot about turbo so they are scared.
so they like na cause they can build it mainly a piece at a time.....
but i dont understand what kind of goals people like that are tryingto accomplish.... a little bit faster a lot more noise? a big waste of money? i dont get it.

That is one of the more one sided opinions ive heard on Honda-Tech. People build NA honda motors for the fact , its more of a challenge to make a NA honda Fast. Ive seen a gutted 93 civic Si , with a mildly built sohc vtec motor run 14.4 ,internally stock exept for a cam. Believe it or not you can make a LS motor run mid to low 14"s for 2 grand if you know what your doing , if you buy a car for 3 grand and throw 2 into , and it runs 14.5 , thats a lot better than buying a 20 thousand dollar srt-4 wouldnt you say. Ive built Turbo Hondas ( easy to go fast ) to NA VTEC build ( still can be fast with a b18c or h22a motor) and 165whp LS motors. To build a non-VTEC na motor to go fast , is a CHALLENGE , not people being scared , but trying to make something out of nothing. Just for your info to , a Ported and Polished LS head with matching IM, Nice cams , can flow just about as good as a VTEC head (i.e b16 b18c etc)

Yea , LS VTECS are sick motors , but about 80% of blow in 20k miles because of poor builds. Though guys who know what there doing can make them last 100+ miles.
