Removing the black can!
I have a 95' Integra and I have a black plastic can mounted in my engine bay on the passenger side. It has a couple of vacuum lines coming off of it, one that connects to the throttle body. What does this can do? Is it ok to just take it out and cap off the vacuum nipples?
No. This is something from the factory. It mounts on the passenger fender well under the hood. It slides into its mounting bracket like the power steering reserve does. I think I've heard someone call it a coal can or something like that. Its not a catch can.

It stores gasoline fumes and recirculates them into your engine later. It is an emissions device. If your car is OBD2, you will have a CEL if this is missing. Leave it in. Emission equipment is important. You will see no performance gains or losses. You may see a gas mileage drop. You will have to plug up the vacuum lines.
The car is OBD1, and its a fully-built turbo motor, so emissions and MPG aren't the biggest deal in the world. I don't even think this thing is fully connected. I just need to know how to take it out and plug up the vacuums.

unbolt, discard, enjoy. The vacuum lines can be plugged in your own creative way. Why do you wanna take it out, though? It's not doing anything bad just sitting there. You're basically going out of your way to pollute with no gain to yourself??? makes no sense.
If there is an electrical plug going to it, you will have a CEL even if its OBD1.
