You could start with balancing and blueprinting, aftermarket springs and retainers.

Then having a custom cam made for you that will actually make power at 9000 and tune it. This project would be unpractical as hell.

Build a DOHC to do that with.

there's no benefit to revving out higher if your car doesn't make any more power up top.....i dont see the point unless you're making good power

man ur give that d15 a beating. that thing is losing alot of power at that high. there really is no reasing to be spinning that thing like that. im not trying to flam ya or anything but im supprised it has lasted. i have a d15 running 7psi and it hates life abover 6500 7000 and i take it to 7000 and i can just feel the power band drop. but if u want to just search online and see what u can find. ull have to find a cam that is huge engough to make it worth it. but there hard to come by for a d15. take if from another d owner and what that other guy said, if u want to spin that high and it do somthing go dohc.

I know I dont make any power after 6800rpms.
But reving out to 8k-9k help alot when racing against mustang gt and the mach 1.

The funny part is I'am on a stock block and stock head. So Ima do a little work on the head to reduce the friction.
Im pretty much want to blow it up.

My setup is
d15b7 non-vtec
ss auto chrome kit
spoolin performance log manifold
blox fmu
ignition wires
fidanza 7lbs flywheel
act clutch
8psi.

You should try changing your head to a vtec head and getting rods/pistons & machine work. then run more boost. It would be alot more beneficial than building the engine to rev out to 9k.

He is full of ****.you can't rev the stock internal d15b7 to 9000revs,even with no rev limit it will stop at around 7800 and blow at 8000...So I don't know what the hell he's talking about.

By the way i know this because i missshifted and from 3rd to 2nd along time ago and it blew at exactly 8075 rpm via memory tach.

I got my pristeen, RUST-FREE (live in rust-belt WI), black 95 EX for very cheap because the previous owner's BF thougth the z6 could take 9000 rpm - and tossed a rod out the block. And that was NA

My guess is you just have a turbo thats about 2x as big as it should be. Get a properly-sized turbo and you won't have to wait till stock redline to see full-boost, let alone have to take it to 9k to beat moostangs. ****, there's guys with 50trim T3's on non-vtec SOHC's raping GT's...albeit 17+ psi

agree with everything...also if you ditch that piece of **** FMU you're using, you'll gain some power w/ a real tune

And I do not shift at 9k all the time. I regularly shift at 7k-8k.
I use 9k just for extra rpm.

My car is just my toy. Lol
