Bad Motor Mounts? Feels like Engine Shakes hard after 1-2 shift.
When I do a real hard and fast 1-2 shift, the front of my car starts to shake(feels like the motor). The RPM's' will only climb once this shaking stops. A shift at 8k normally will put me at 6,500, however with this shaking it lands me at 5,500. This is what happens: the engine revs up to 8k in first, I slam it in 2nd then BOP BOP BOP BOP, then the revs start to climb again.I'm thinking bad motor mounts.

This is in a 2001 Honda Prelude Base 5spd. If it is the mounts, i'm gonna get them swapped out. While he's in there I'll get my mechanic to install the Ingalls engine torque damper I have.
sure you don't have a misfire? Motor mounts will clunk and knock. You'll feel it on your feet and floorboard.
rotor, cap, wires changed 30k ago. New spark plugs installed last week,440cc injectors professionally installed, hondata tuned.

the h22 is notorious for shake usually at hard load on car at a certain rpm then it gradually goes away as the rpms go up and the load starts to come off the car ,,, a set of good axels or new axels straights it out
Is the hop b/c the tires can't grip? I.E. when I put my slicks on will I still have this problem?
Sounds like wheel hop. It tends to occur less on slicks (biaply's). Radial tires are notorious for producing wheel hop and breaking axles.

the slicks will have a softer sidewall, that will help absorb the impact of whatever is happening to cause the wheel hop, wether it being your driving ability or possibly flaws in suspension/engine mounts..
