Default Procedure for removing rear seat.

Anyone know it? I've got a '90 STD Hatch. And I can't really figure out how to get the bastard out.

theres 2 plastic clips on the outside of the seat rail that seats pivot on. pull out clip w/ pliers. slide seat to outside and pull forward. they will come out. bottom cushion is bolted on w/ 10mm bolts. they also have lil metal piece that sort of clip (but really slide) inso the body of the car twars the front of the seat. once unn bolted tilt seat cushion up from back and pull forward to un-do the clips.

For the bottom part, there is a 10mm bolt through the seat/backrest in the center of the seats. If you put a 10mm socket on an extension you should be able to reach it, you can see it if you put the driver's side rear passenger backrest folded about halfway down. Then pull up on the back part and lift the back section first, you should be able to slide the whole seat out now.

Quick and easy. First, look at the outside rails the rear fold down on. Fold it down all the way, and there is a little plastic C clip holding the seat toward the middle.

Pop that off, push the half of the seat toward the side of the car, and the just pull the middle of the half of the seat off the center bar. Easy.

For the bottom half, there is one 10mm bolt on the driver side in the trunk <you can see it after the top of the back seat is removed>

Remove this bolt, flip the back seat up 90 degrees from the rear, and it pulls straight up.

Done.

Buah hah hah. One step closer to gutted-ness. It worked, thanks again guys.

I'll get some pics and post an introduction of myself before too long. I can't wait to see how much poo I'm gonna catch for having

a.) Hood pins.
b.) A gutted hatch... with a body kit.
c.) A body kit... with steelies.

just got it recently (month ago). That's my excuse.

Good enough excuse for me . I think MANY of us on this board (including myself) were ricers to begin with. We just EVOLVED into car enthusiasts (who do their own work), some ricers NEVER do. Later, Overkll
