Just wondering how much you guys are paying to have your side skirts color

matched to your cars.

 

the easy way is to find someone with a gun and compressor and do it yourself, or know someone who will paint it for a case of beer, other wise it will cost an arm and a leg

I figure I can do it myself for less than $30

Sideskirts, mouldings, tag area, and handles are all removable.

Just sand with 800 grit, then 1000 and primer, base, and clear.

DONE>

 

370 good lord, i had my whole front end painted for 400. minus hood but including side mirrors done very good aswell.

 

Yeah when the guy said that, I was like, "Don't you paint whole cars for 180 and 399 for the step-up package?"

"I'm asking you to paint 4 sq feet MAYBE and you're telling me almost $400?"

Im almost postive that "Eran" has a link in his sig that will bring you to a DIY someone did. They just sand them down like EK Forver said and painted it flat black.

 

Speaking of sideskirts, i need to take mine off for inspection so they can jack my teal turtle civic up. Anyways I heard the clips arent reusable, so im wondering where i can get some clips so when its all done being inspected i can throw my side skirts back on.

Im suprised no one has come into this thread yet and starting bitching about "ricers", you know with the side skirt topic and all.

 

Oe skirts aren't ricer-ish at all.

Personally I think then the eg and ek civics have those accessories painted to match the car it brings out a very good appeal.

I bet they might even have sold more civics if they were all paint matched.

(IMO the sideskirts anyway.)

I think taffetta is like brighter/glossier. Frost is almost like primer with a clear coat.

They sell taffetta too I think

 

2.25 cm away

 

Frost is the white on 96-98, and Taffeta is 99-00.

You can order taffeta white sideskirts from the dealer

 

you can also order an aresol can of your paint code form your local paint supply store wich has a better nozzle and comes out cleaner and then get the good clear, all for around $40, and your done like dinner

 

What chain paint suppliers would have auto paint in stock?

 

i took mine off and someone quoted me $200

not sure what you mean? any store that sells auto paint like PPG should have it. just look in the phone book under auto paint and body supplies
