i`m in the process off ordering parts for my rebuild, sould i get a new oil pump the orignal has about 220,xxx km. thanks

 

might as well.. i didn't replace it on my rebuild.. but that was only 65k miles.. i know i'll be doing it this time

 

Given the KM's, even in miles... if you already there then why not?

 

Hmmm. Its done some serious travelling.

Id say definately do it as you cant be sure if its been done before. Plus if the new one ***** itself within warranty, it isnt you paying for the rest of the damage that might be caused

 

just do it man. You don't wanna avoid doing it and then in a week or a month have something go wrong and have to take ALL that crap apart again

 

thanks folk, it has been added to the shopping list. yea i have had it for 5 years and drive my beater in the winter, all those kms cause we all know it`s fun to drive

 

my friend asked me if he should get a new oil pump. i told him you spend so much money for a build only to slack on that one very important part. i would get a new one i told him.
he didnt listen and reused the oil pump
well on the first start up it failed and his fresh motor build went to the trash. the block and pistions were damaged beyond repair.
