dual charged sohc??
What's up guys? I'm wanna build a twin charged honda using a jrsc & a greddy equivalent TC! The problem is I want it all to look stealth...STOCK! The plans will be for a built d16 w/ piston compression in the 9's hopefully. I have no specific WHP/HP target, but I was thinkin max 20psi(8 jrsc & 12 TC) between the two. I've did my fair share of searching but nothin clear & dry saying this is what needs to be done for sucess??? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Let the hunt begin! I'm gonna do this I just need more info. And to see if there has been any technological adv. To make this easier and less complicated.

You must have deep pockets to afford the setup, however i dont really feel it would be all that much better over a quality turbo kit with great tune and great fuel and EMS...cant really say it will be that much better.
if money wasnt a option why not sleeve it and bore it larger to make more torque and invest in a quality turbo kit?

Well considering the jrsc is only 800 and I'm gonna build my own kit roughly a 1G that's not expensive. I can do assembly myself! Pistons, rods, block gaurd 800 for a grand total of 2600 that's not bad for a built motor dual charged! I'm sure there will be addtn'l $$$ needed but not as drastic as you make it sound.

you will also need some good fuel management and engine management.
along with all of the little odds and ends that kinda kit would come to.
plus getting soemone to tune it might bwe a hassle might not be, and might be a good ammount of time to get the dual charging right

Well for fuel mngt. I was thinkin hondata as for tuning I know 3 ppl. Who do tunning! Accredited stuff! (Not givin out any names, lol

PM rmcdaniels, and clemson hatch, they have first hand experience doing the dual charger thing. Clemsonhatch has a pretty nasty autocross civic, that takes names every event. Good luck

Whaat? If there was lag, its only at very low RPM 1-3K, And when are you ever at that RPM?
If you have the proper turbo sizing setup, you'll minimize the lag and at the same time, gain at top end. And as far as using a SC to compensate for the low end, thats just ridiculous to try to gain power at low rpm like that. who needs it.

Have you seen the graphs?? Prolly not b/ that's an uneducated comment!

I just hate lag Period! I want kinda a zero lag sys. Which only a small turbo could possibly be able to acheive if I just do the tc, but that will limit top end. Also I do plan to attend track events!

thats kinda what im saying.
like take my 1.8T jetta for example.
it makes 174TQ at 1950RPM, its only turbo charged, you really couldnt expect to see any lower rpm torque than that, at least to the fact traction will be come a major issue with really low rorque depending on how much you make
if you were to supercharge the jetta i dont believe it would make any lower rpm torque as that is pretty low.
my point? that a well devloped turbocharged engine can function like a SC but only not SC, if that makes any sense.
a d16 with a 28rs turbo would be imo just as good

I believe I have seen and dealt with more Hondas that you can ever imagine. We have worked and built race engines setups for Drag and Road race cars that most people would drool over. I was driving turbo single cams and doing up all motor single cams when you were still in Elementary school. I think my comment is VERY educated.

trying to talk smack and wanting to supercharge and turbocharge a D-series
Thats like 5x not worth it, its more money than you are obviously thinking (sure you know tuners but they cant get you free hondata) and its not worth all the hassel when if you knew what was going on...a proper sized setup will kick ya in the pants from 3k-redline. Do you not launch your car at all? The only time you wouldnt have power is from a dead stop limping it off the line, and if thats ones idea of 'racing' or driving aggresively than just keep your car stock, its a lot cheaper and even your idea wont take that away.
The guy who posted pics on turbod16.com never gave us anymore info, but I never heard anything positive come from it.</TD></TR></TABLE>
yes you know your ****, yeah others know their **** but why wait for 3500 when I can have it instantly? Off the line from a dead stop or wether I'm launching it!

If its been proven, why are you against it? What have you built that can out do mcdaniels setup on or off the track w/ the same chassis and motor? I'm not here to hate, but most of you guys are giving me negative feedback but have never done it! That's the same as you telling me what I have or haven't buillt, what I know or don't know!

Hahaha I love it. If you want to be different, than go for it. But if you want a realistic, and reliable street setup, definitaley just go turbo.
