search function isn't working right now, so don't know if there's another thread like this after about page 3 cause i stopped looking and decided to post cause i figured it wouldn't **** anybody off that much if it was asked again but...
i had an oil leak at my vtec solenoid that is now fixed but i can't seem to get all the oil off of the front of the block and the tranny case where it was leaking onto. i've gotten probably 80% of it off and now it's just kind of a light haze but im selling my car and i want it to shine like so many of your guys motors that i see. ie the pic of the motor in this dude's f/s thread:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1910070
i've think i've read something about using brake cleaner? but im not really sure enough that that's what i read to do it and potentially mess up my car. somebody on my hometown shop's forum said he'd head to use oven cleaner but he didn't know what kind, and again i just dont' want to use something w/o being sure it's safe to use.
also, i may just need to bite the bullet and spend like 4 or 5 hours w/hot soapy water and a brush but i already did that for about 2 hours saturday to get to this point and i'm just looking for an instant gratification kinda fix.
Thanks for taking the time to read, and any advice that's coming from personal experience that's definitley safe and effective is welcome
Thanks,
Ben

wow. ok guys, i ******* read what both of you said. jesus. i posted a question on a forum with thousands of people and im listening to what other people say. there was no need for you to be a jackass. im not an idiot, i don't sound like an idiot in my post and you should probably chill the expletive out. flame somebody who needs it, not somebody who's asking a legitimate question. and this post is more oriented towards the 2nd guy who responded, not the first cause he actually gave an answer. so second dude: eat a dick
