Is there a multifunction alarm that will let me have power windows, locks, keyless in my 97 dx?
Keyless entry isnt too much trouble in a DX, Best buy does there's with $30 servos for each door with any alarm. I have an EX and when one of my door lock motors went out it was easy to put in a new one myself @ $50 for one motor from the dealer and i just wired it up to the alarm.
Its going to be a lot more bumpy to get switch activated locks and windows. The locks maybe not so bad. If you want either though, you will have to get door panels with appropriate switching. I think you will have a lot of work invested in switching to power windows and locks which alarm companies don't deal with.
Ive switched over other cars from manual windows/locks to power but never a civic. Maybe somebody will post who has converted a civic from manual locks and windows to power and can tell you how their swap went, but on this board i think many people are doing the opposite for weight reasons.
IMO having keyless on a two door really makes power locks useless and power windows arent worth the extra weight and trouble if they werent already on it when you bought it.
Hope I helped.

Thanks for the replies all. I sold my 2k civic si last weekend. I had power windows, locks, and a sun roof. I miss my amenities. I got my signifiganly cheaper civic dx so I could buy a car to play with on the weekends (rx7). I am not doing weight reduction, and generally not trying to make this car fast. I really want oem power windows, locks, and keyless entry. An alarm would lower my insurance, and increase my peace of mind, however, and I assume when I get an alarm I am no longer using stock keyless entry? Or do I just splice my alarm into the oem controls?
And from my research it seems like an oem sunroof is pretty much completely out of the question. Seems there is a problem with roof bracing, and body flex.
Anyway, I have a lot more to read before I make a decision. I will have oem door panels, power windows, and locks. I need to start aquiring the parts. I just don't know enough about alarms to plan how they will interface with the oem components.

If you put the OEM power door locks in it's just a matter of splicing into two wires to get keyless entry off your alarm. Windows are another matter. If you run the wires into the door while installing power windows a window automation unit will not be much more labor. Don't even consider cutting a hole in the roof for a sunroof. Wouldn't it have been easier just to buy a Civic with power locks and windows?
