Fried '91 Civic engine?
I driving a '91 Honda Civic down to San Carlos one day and as I was driving for about a good 25 mins I start to hear clicking noise. I ignore it and continue driving. As I exit I throw my car into neutral and soon after my car engine dies. I come to a complete stop at a stop light and I try and start my car up again. Doesn't work. So I push my car to the side and park it there so I don't disrupt traffic.
I pop open my hood and see the top radiator hose connecting to the engine is blown, like there is a big rip and hole in it. I figured my it just blew and I need to add more coolant and whatnot. So I call my friend up to swoop me up and buy a new hose a jug of coolant for my 1.5 engine. I replaced the ripped up hose and start adding the coolant. I thought that the coolant was spilled when the hose was damage, but I kept pouring. Eventually I used up the whole jug of coolant.
Basically I was driving with little or no coolant at all. When my car says the engine was hot, I just thought my meter was broken. I was going to replace the thermostat but when I found out I was running on no coolant, that wasn't my main concern.
So I was wondering:
1. If I fried my engine. It didn't smell like it was fried and there no smoke.
2. If did Fry it, should I just buy a new car, or get a new motor. (My budget is pretty low also. About 1500 I would say.)
Thank you for your time and reading this post. I am a little embarrassed to ask. Once again thank you.

So you just assumed that your temp guage was broken instead of checking your coolant? Well at least you wont make that mistake again. If you're lucky you might have just blown the head gasket and maybe warped the head a bit. If that's the case, you will need to mill the head and get a new head gasket.
Well, the blown hose sounds like a blown HG and you may have warped the head by driving it when it was overheating. I'd be willing to guess that your motor is either gone or on it's way out, you may want to consider searching for a swap, perhaps a D16A6 or SOHC ZC.
