Grinds in left and right turns?
i have a 96 accord and there is grinding coming from the front wheels.. one friend says its the boot that needs to be replaced b/c the lack of grease and another says its the cv axle. advice please.. thanks
yep your CV Boot has ripped and all the axle grease inside leaked out all over the inner rim. happen to me a few weeks ago. i drove it like that for 2 months. before i replaced it. but its not recommended to drive with a ripped boot. it will wear the axles and eventually after a while, it will break. but that takes a pretty long time to happen. but you should replace both even if one is ripped. so you wont have to worry about the other one going to.

I drive a 99 accord and the same thing happened to me - grinding in turns - i had it looked at and it was the CV joint - the ball bearings were shot on the drivers side - def a safe bet is the CV

Grease leaks?
Anyway, these guys are all on the right track. Your boot doesn't have to be ripped or loose for the axle to become worn. Wear and tear is a factor. When the boot is in fact loose, or ripped, the grease doesn't run and dry the joint out, it's the dirt and grit that gets into the joint that wears it out quickly. Buy the axle(s) yourself, and take a look at the cv axle thread that's on either the first or second page of the accord forum right now.
After watching it be replaced, you'll kick yourself if you pay someone else to do it.
