Default dsm 450 install? (already did search and it hasnt been awnsered)

so my question is do i take out the bottom seals the hard plastic ones and leave them out? i already drilled the top seals the rubber ones and they fit on the injectors perfectly but i am unable to put them in the manifold becuse of the bottom hard plastic seal. if i take the bottom seal out i can put the injectors in and it looks good but someone was saying that it may come out under boost is that correct or whats the deal thanx

The only seal you have to do anything to is the OEM Honda washer into the intake manifold. You can either use some lube and force them in, or use a Dremel so they fit the DSM 450's. All other seals should be be left alone.

yes there are two seals that sit in the mani the bottom one (hard plastic) and top one that goes around the injector (rubber) i dremeled the rubber one so that it will fit around the injector but they will not go in the intake manifold with the bottom seal (hard plastic) one still in the manifold but if it take the plastic ones out then they fit.

BUMP for some answers.

I also prepped my set of DSM 450's with OEM o-rings and I noticed the same fitment issue. I'd think leaving the hard plastic ring out is ok?

if you leave the bottom seal out your car will run like crap and have a vacume leak. i use factory honda orings for the top and have never had any problems. you shouldn't be messing with the fuel rail side orings. the bottom seals should be lubed and they will fit very tigtly.

Are you talking about the 3 hard plastic spacer that the fuel rail sit on? Or the bottom O rings that goes on the intake manifold?

i am talking about the hard platic rings that sit inside the injector holes on the intake mani. i already drilled the rubber ones that fit over the injector but they will not fit with those hard plastic rings in the holes.

I just tossed my age-hardened seals and used whats essentially a ring of rubber hose, although its a bit overkill - viton-f synthetic rubber. I think the dimensions are 5/8"x7/8", its perfect for the manifold, but a bit tight for at least dsm's and deka injectors. It also solved the height issue. I could always make up more sets, and have o-rings for the tops if yours are worn

I have use it without the 3 hard plastic rings before and it was fine. Just make sure you don't over tighten the fuel rail down.

Will dsm seals fit in the intake manifold or is the outside diameter of them the wrong size?
