Any photo examples of installing receiver in EK civic cup holder slot?
Does anyone have any links to examples of installing a head unit into the slot above the cup holder in an ek civic?
My custom head unit was stolen, and I want to re-install the factory unit, but put a custom receiver in the slot behind the cup holder (less conspicuous). Also, are there any wiring suggestions on how to hook up both? I would like to have the clock on the factory unit work (and my dome light).
thanks!

It's very difficult to do it in an EK. You need all of the JDM brackets.
However, if you drive an EJ, which I suspect you do, living in Chicago, IL and not Tokyo, it's fairly easy, and most decks ISO mount with minimal problems.

Yeah, I'm a total noob w/ terminology - It's a '97 civic ex coupe, automatic.
Do you know of any examples of this being done? I assume it's possible, but I can't seem to find anything online.

its very easy to do in an EK/EJ/EM. just buy the brackets from honda and a couple trim pieces and you're set.

ok, but can you tell me which brackets, and where I can get them? Or, at least point me in the right direction. I'm definitely wondering if there are any examples of wiring both receivers up together.
ok, it looks like i can just do it with the default hardware: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=807886

As has been stated, it's easy, as long as you do not want to connect the speakers of the stock HU, then all you need is one of these... http://www.scosche.com/scosche...A02RB for the stock HU, remove all the speaker leads, and one of these... http://www.scosche.com/scosche...HA02B for the stock radio harness, leave the green plug plugged into the stock HU, connect the aftermarket HU harness to the adapter above, along with the black, red, yellow and orange from the adapter harness that plugs into the stock HU, [the one you remove the speaker leads from].
Add 2 4PDT and 1 SPDT relays and you can switch between the two HUs, stock HU is slave unit, turning the aftermarket HU on and off will turn the stock HU on and off, and switch the speakers from one HU to the other.
