Default How far is to far with the Acura warranty?

I know you can put on an intake and cat-back exhaust and have no problems with Acura, but what about headers?

Your owner's manual sort of tells you what the consequences are for certain mods and who installs them. In short, do whatever you want. However, if a problem developes that would normally be covered under warranty and it is possible the modifications contributed to or caused the failure, it's up to Acura to provide or deny warranty coverage. Feeling lucky?

i agree ... they probably will deny you service so try and make sure you have some back up so that you dont have to rely on them and making friends with a mechanic can help too ...

if your not friends with the people there then they might deny warranty work for you

if you want to mod, just don't let them know it
if you need warranty work, convert back to stock if you don't want to risk it

The guys at Arlington Acura are pretty cool, but I'll ask them about the header on the safe side. They have no problem with any cat-back or with the V2 .

Today I spoke with the service manager at McCrath Acura of Westmont about some parts. Exhaust and intake they don't care(unless you suck in water of course). Header they really didn't take real wll though. They said if you get a knock sound or anything the motor could be voided.

whatever you do, make sure you get it in writing. They can say one thing today and then a different thing tomorrow and you will still end up screwed.

I've been fucked over by dealer in Fayetteville NC (leaving drain plug loose and putting in a cotter pin. the drain plug fell out after 10 miles and the control arm fell after a few hundred)
After the drain plug I heard a different sound when down shifting at like 5g's and they wouldn't do **** about they blamed my header. After the control arm they tryed to give my **** back right after they put everything back together and I went back got another wheel and anything that looked scratched replaced. expletive them. As soon as I got my car back from where I bought it Mac ChurchHill in Fort Worth TX I told them i would pay them whatever to find something wrong with my car to sue them. Mac drove may car for two days put it in the air and ran it with 7 mechanics holding screwdrivers to my whole exhaust header back and they tightend my screw and found the bolt with a spring connecting the header to the down pipe broke replaced and gave me back my car sounding close to normal (evey now and again it sounds funny) over look the whole passenger wheel everything to make sure everything was cool and got a tire rotation and balance all I paid for was the balance. They gave me back my keys and said I had the sickest RSX to come in and explained what they did. They blamed nothing on my parts or installation. Even after I installed my cold air the oxygen sensor fell loose and i didn't clamp the radiator hose back so it blew off and I had coolant every where I put it back together and took it for a oil change and they taped up the wire, pressure washed the coolant and topped it off !

WOW Crazy story man. At least now you got all your **** taken care of. I work for a BMW dealer and I know for a fact that the only way an adjuster comes out is for huge claims that are about $2000 or more. I don't get why they have these gay issues with voiding warranties for CAI sometimes or huge deals with headers. I could understand voiding the part since your removing it becuase they shouldn't cover your after market product just OEM parts.
