Default Question

Hey guys im new to the boards and had a question, I searched the forum but couldn't find what i was looking for. I have a 07 civic sedan and wanted to put 2 subwoofers and an amp, but i want to leave the head unit. Do you guys recommend this as far as sound quality or should i get and aftermarket radio? any suggestions would be appreaciated. thanks .

you could always leave the stock 350 watt stereo and sub, we aren't in 1999 when massive subwoofers and bass were cool. You'd also be left with more money in your pocket to spend on tasteful mods.

Not all Civics come with the 350watt stereo and sub.

haha yea i know we arn't in 1999. Yea my EX doesn't come with a subwoofer... and it really lacks in the bass area. and i already have the subs and the amp from my previous car so it won't be that expensive.

If you stay with the stock setup your ears will thank you, LOL. But if you do go aftermanrket i've heard of several people keeping stock head units and adding amps etc.. I'm not sure how though, but its possible.

I would seriously suggest upgrading your stereo, you'd get better frequency response and tuning out of an aftermarket head unit. Plus you get all the easy hookups instead of splicing crap and using adapters on a stock head unit.

< had a 15" sub on a stock head unit and it was difficult and worthless.

Definately replace the stock head unit if your going to be adding an amp and subs. IMO its a no brainer.
