I asked an older friend about getting a cold air intake and he said that if I get get one I should "hook it up to your smog system"? What does he mean beause I have never heard of that before. He also said that if I dont it'll burn out cylinder #3.

LOL are you serious you should stick it up his smog lol. Yea theyre all right and just for a little tip don't go off and buy a $250 dollar intake unless you like to throw money away just buy a cone from autozone or your local autoparts store save you alot of money. the difference is slight to that of an expensive system. Upgrade to some custom headers if you really want to get an air/exhaust gain!
