Default Aiesh ... I fell victim to a totalled R.... <sigh>

I was just driving the speed limit, and someone cut me off... I rear ended them and smacked into their back end.. the front end is all smashed in. I am wondering if my mods will be covered through insurance. I am really upset because i worked really hard to afford what I have done to my car. nt is now an option, but i am more concerned with the mods I have already made. I know the JDM fr Any input would be great...

thanks a lot...

Jon

I forgot to add that the officer told me he believed my story, and the accident has one witness siding with me.

pull the mods off....unless the insurance co knows about them, they won't be covered it the car is totalled.

what is the best way to obtain the JDM front.. hmmm.. i may actually like the US one better... ill think about it.. how do I get it through insurance... just go to a body shop and ask them to order that one instead of getting the US one ordered from a dealership?

Thanks,
Jon

BTW-thanks for the support guys.

As long as your insurance knows about it and your premiums are adjusted accordingly, for my company at least. I read the fine print on my policy.
Example, if my Recaros are stolen, they will only replace it with OEM seats since I didn't report it (which is more expensive anyway) but that it what they will base the price on.
I wouldn't worry too much, OEM dealer parts are expensive and you may even make out. I did when my GSR was partially stripped.
Ex, factory radio for over $400? rear trunk mat for $185, wheels at $389 each.

take your car to a HONDA dealer to get your total estimate. it will always be higher than it should be. then take your car to an independent body shop...preferably one that deals with Hondas, or imports a lot and is willing to do custom work/body kits.. show them your Honda estimate....that'll be your 'budget'. then tell them what you want to do, they'll do it, and they'll just bill insurance. this is what i've always done, and my friends have always done. we always get a new bodykit, or all new paint etc. from doing this, and it keeps insurance from putting stock crap back on your car if you're already modded.

Well... it's looking good.. I am happy to be able to say that the motor is in pretty good shape. It is mostly just the front fender and hood. I think the radiator is toast, and the clutch/tranny may be messed... i am taking a look at it tonight.

I have the receipts for all of the mods... and i talked to a great bodyshop that will do the JDM front.

Thanks for the help guys, and support.
