Default Full Motor Mounts...

For us RSX people, a lot of people are forced to use ES MM inserts when using a race header
(combines the shorty header and cat into one, so less engine movement is needed)

They are often hesitant as you lose comfort, though wheel hop is decreased.

I've gone that route and went to Innovative MMs 60A hardness.

But innovative also offers a Race Kit 75A hardness and a solid kit 85A hardness.

For you RR people, what kind of mounts are you using? I no longer care about comfort and care more about functionality at the track.
The 60As held up well at the track, would one benefit from a "solid" 85A hardness vs the 75A Race kit? I know the 75A race kit will be an improvement over my previous 60A Street kit, but woudl the 85A just give me more problems vs benefits in the end? (i.e. possibly too stiff for a non-race prepped chassis? i.e. no spot/seam welds or wahtever)

I love marketing...

"full" motor mounts. "full" coil-overs. "full" exhaust system.

As if something from an otherwise reputable company, like Koni or Mugen is otherwise completely junk.

I have advid mounts up top and the stock ones filled with 3m window weld on the bottom. RR setup b18c1 swapped Ej1. Why spend a couple hundred dollars on a solid urathane mount setup when you can go to napa and buy a thing of window weld for $20 and make the stock ones work just as well. DIY FTW !

I had the 60A shore hardness Innovative mounts.

Sold them cuz I needed money.

I tried fillling the stock mounts with polyurethane.
(hardest I could find at Lowes)

My DIY polyurethane inserts feel firmer than the 60A innovative mounts. When I press the poly on the Innovative, it would squish a little bit,
my DIY poly filled mounts do not, yet the motor rocks moreso with my DIY mounts which is why I still want full mounts instead.

I tried to find window weld but didn't know where to get it at the time.
A NAPA isn't too far so I rarely go there. If I fill some mounts again I will use window weld though.

But the DIY mounts I have still have play in ithem.
Givefn I shaved most of the stock rubber out to eliminate that variable,
I had to leave some in to keep the stock location of the bolt hole.
I believe that amount of rubber still has a play on stiffness because the motor still does rock a little at start up.

I am also getting a knocking/vibrating noise at idle that was never there with the Innovativef mounts.

That's mainly why I do call them "FULL" motor mounts rather than inserts such as Energy Suspension, or DIY inserts, as they still ARE inserts in the stock rubber mount.

Sweet, at least it's firmer than the 60A Innovatives.

I still get vibes at idle though, but it was more of a solid vibe vs when I had ESMMs...similar vibe to the Innovatives.

I always had the nozzle pressed up against the pl so hopefully bubbles are minimal.

BTW Weren't you the guy w/ the blue RSX that was at SOW on Feb 20th?
Am I gonna see you out there on the 12th?

^why'd you edit your post? i didn't get to read the original one! lol

HASPORT only makes a rear mount for this car.

My friend had the rear in his turbo RSX and it vibed too much,
he had innovative race thereafter which didn't vibe as much (RACE = 75A shore hardness_)

i got a full set of the Avid billet mounts in 75A shore, including the lower torque mounts. I had been having some problems with breaking mounts, tore the drivers sire mount area a bit (now reinforced), and i was simply tired of the problems, i get a good amount of vibration at idle and cruising, but the fact that i have had no more problems with breaking anything is a plus, and it feels much better performance wise, and got rid of almost all wheel hop as well, i drive my car on the street alot, and get looks at lights from the vibration at idle (carbon hood, pins, etc) but it doesnt bother me
