v700 tire pressures
hello
ill be trying ecsta v700s tommorow...
and would like to know what pressure to start off with...
i was thinking to start with 40f 35r
this is on a 1997 honda civic with not much camber in the front ~2.0 or less
and ~1.0 on the rear
on my hankook rs2s i run 39f and 34r and it seems to work well
these are one 7 inch wide rims
the v700s seem to have really stiff sidewalls compared to my hankooks... does this mean i should run lower pressures?
tire size is also 205/50 15 thats on a 6.5 inch wide rim
im confused because there are soo many different ideas on what to start off with ive heard as low as 29 and then as high as 50
this is for autox , ill be using a chalk and hopefully a pyrometer if i can get a hold of one, but i dont want to be out ther with not enough air since sumone stole my air tank
thanx in advance

iiinteresting. i just ran our club's ice breaker event with my gsr. first time ever running a fwd in my gsr. i run 205/50R14's i think, i was maintaining 40psi hot up front, and started the rear at 45psi, and let it keep getting hotter in the rear up to 50psi. keep in my mind my car is bone stock. got top time in g stock.

over 3000 lbs 38-43+______27-33
Info from tire rack on V700s
Inflation Pressures
The V700 will work well on most cars with inflation pressures between 35 and 40 psi ("cold" inflation pressures for autocross use and "hot" inflation pressures for racing use). Cars that are light, well balanced and relatively easy on tires will find slightly lower pressures may work for them, while heavy, high horsepower cars that are generally harder on tires may find that they need slightly higher inflation pressures.
Generally adding air pressure in small increments (2 psi) to the tires on the end of the car that loses traction first works best. For example, if a car is understeering, add pressure to the front tires. If the car is oversteering, add pressure to the rear tires.

When they overheat.
Which has a bit to do with air pressure.
For the OP, I'd try contacting Kumho to get their recommended pressures first off. But it looks like the Tire Rack info is coming straight from Kumho so you may have your answer right there.

If I must go into detail for you jokers, I guess I have to spell EVERYTHING out. Joke Joke HEHE
what have you experience with the tire at your given pressures, track temp, tire temps, # of laps and etc.. .

I only remember the ambient temp, pressures, and range of laps: 86, 33lb front and 29lb rear cold, llaps 12-16 if I kept at the same pace. The sheer amount of data points may be tough to gather. Good luck.
