Viper 791vx problem.
heres the problem..
remote randomly stopped working with alarm. so im trying to reprogram it and no luck.. i believe im doing everything correctly and all the wires are hooked up for the alarm (pink) so when i press the valet switch the it does chirp and what not.. any advice on what i could be doing wrong would be very helpful.
also could it be a bad antenna ?

it could be the anttena, I have a new one right here if you want to try it. So the unit does not even respond to the controler?
doesnt responded at all,, it happened a while back randomly and i didnt have a chance to look at it til now. the alarm seems to be working but no signal is what im guessing.. dont know if maybe the remote just stoped or the antenna
alarm was put in around a year or so.. this car doesnt see much action and i dont drop my remote all day or anything so i dont know what happened

it could be the antena or it could be the remote or the brain. I can look at it for you to figure it out. If its the brain dei will be happy to replace it for you

Where did you get the system, and where was it installed?
DEI systems come with lifetime warranty if purchased and installed at an authorized dealer, 1 year on the remote.
If the system is less then a year old go to a dealer and have them figure it out, if more then a year old, go to a dealer anyway and have them program a new remote, [only takes a few min.] if it works you know your remote is hooped and you need a new one, if not the problem is someplace else, [ant. or main unit].
It is the second thing I always try when someone comes in with a remote problem, first I try to program the remote, [after disconnecting the batt. neg.(-) for a min. and reconnecting it, rebooting main unit] if that does not work I will try and program a new remote, if that works I know the problem was the remote and I do not need to go any farther.
If the above does not work I will plug another ant. into the main unit and try programing remote again, if that works I know the problem was the ant. and will replace it, if not the problem is in the main unit and it will have to be pulled and sent to DEI for repair or replacement
We do not charge to program a remote or to test program a new remote to see if the remote is the problem as it only takes a min. or so, however if it does not work and we have to pull the car into the shop then its $45 an hr., [if it's not warranty].

PS, you have checked to make sure ant. is plugged into the main unit properly, right?

You are using the right remote learn routine...
1. Open a door. (The GREEN wire, H1/8, or the VIOLET, H1/6 must be connected.)
2. Key. Turn the ignition to the ON position.
3. Choose. Within 10 seconds, press and release the Program switch the number of times corresponding
to the desired channel listed below. Once you have selected the channel, press
the switch once more and HOLD it. The LED will flash and the horn will honk (if connected)
to confirm the selected channel. Do not release the Program switch.
#3 press and release one time, then press and hold the switch then press remotes lock/arm button.
