Hey everyone.

So there I was at the red light, waiting to turn right to the intersecting road. On my right a guy in a black supra pulled up next to me also turning left but his lane merged into mine. We had raced exactly like this once before, i took him and he had to merge behind me.

So I decided what the hell, gave him the go and we waited, light changed drop it on first at 8k, ran 1st to 7500, then shifted to 2nd and ran that to 7k then let off the gas a bit pushed in the clutch shifted to third and let the clutch go gave the tb some pull.....

Swooooosh, it sounded like a jet under my hood, were my b16a2 once sat. No metal grinding or anythign bad just air. So i didnt try starting it. I neutraled the hurt dog and took it home.

Once home, I took the ehad off and **** the number 4 piston was gone and the wrist pin ad dug into the sleeve but all the way threw to the inside of the water jacket but not past it.

So here is my question, can these outer sleevs be takin out or is it cast into the block somehow?

I seen a website that was grinding them down to sleeve the block with darton sleeves and couldnt mine be done to get rid of the cracked upper part?

I dropped it at around 3500 or 4000.

 

i would have to see it up close to know for sure but i don't think it can be resleeved

 

Is there a crack all the way down or is it just that one chunk at the top that's missing? If it's just that one chunk then the block should be able to get sleeved.

For sleeving they generally grind down the stock sleeves & set the new ones on top of the old ones.

I have not over-revved this motor, period. Street or track, I know the limits of my car.

I don't rev my car to 7500 anywhere, no matter what I'm doing. So no, this couldn't happen anywhere if the kid drove like a mature adult. Calm down, Speed Racer.

plus, when you over rev, the rod bolts generally stretch too far and break,thus throwing the rod out of the block. i hardly ever hear of the piston flying off

To answer the OP's question, though - yes, you can have your engine sleeved to repair the damage. Look around the forced induction forum for the opinions of those who have come before.

its like i said before he might be able to have it resleeved, but it just might be to far gone, we cut out more of the stock sleeve then any other sleeving shop so we can fix most of these but this one looks bad like the crack looks like it goes all the way down the sleeve, if that is the case the block is a paper wait if he post some pics with the rod out of the way i could probably tell for sure

That's the damage I did to mine when I busted my sleve. I ended up building a turbo motor. Good Luck.
