Default Just changed Manual Tranny Fluid

I read over on the s2ki boards that Honda released a new MTF with a green label on the bottle and they were reporting smoother cold and hot shifting, so I gave it a shot. I've just passed 19k miles and cold shifts were too notchy and quick shifts didn't feel right. With the new fluid cold shifting is extremely smooth and I think better than when the car was new.

Anyone else try this fluid yet?

I hear the k20 people are using this with great results. I wouldn't mind some of that stuff. My shifts are smooth as hell sometimes or notchy other times.

Members who recommend plain 10W-30 motor oil for transmission usage should read information like this.

Clearly, Honda designed (and recently improved) the MTF to offer better performance than standard motor oil. It's nevertheless interesting to read that there was such a marked improvement over the old MTF.

I know people with Acura CL-S with 6 speed manual, replace fluid for better shifting they say go with penzoil, the one that says its made for or is compatable with soft metals. My brother has the CL-S powertrain in his Accord and he says it is a lot better. He tried the hew Honda stuff and it was the same if not worse. My 07 Civic felt a little better after I changed the MTF to the new Honda stuff. Results vary by car.
