Anyone uses royal purple synchromax manual gear fluid for your honda ?
i am thinking pour in one quart of royal purple synchromax manual gear fluid (it stated synthetic) with a quart of honda oem manual tranny fluid.
i know someone from this fourm uses one quart of penzoil sychro with a quart of honda oem mtf. he said very smooth shifting.
cause i think royal purple is good stuff. i uses royal purple motor oil on all my cars.
<FONT SIZE="3"><FONT COLOR="red">updated: next day</FONT></FONT>
i drained the tranny fluid and refilled it with half royal purple synchromax and half oem honda mtf and test drove it for 20 miles (highway and local mix), the result is amazing. the shifting is acutally much much smoother and drives smoother. not trying to start a war here, but just want to share some experiences. at least this is in my case

Why not just run all Honda MTF and stop making threads about what oil to us? If your really curious i say just buy a set of all the oils you want to try. Try them out for a week and take notes and see which you want. You could even make a FAQ about it.

I use AMS Synchromesh MTF, tranny feels smooth, don't know if it's much smoother than with Honda MTF, but it's definitely not worse.

There's already nine billion posts on this topic.
I'd go with OEM Honda Genuine 100%.

I just accidentally posted a similar thread: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/2271517
In my opinion, this question is valid, because while there has been huge debate, there has been hardly any mention of Royal Purple and Synchromax specifically, thus my starting a new thread accidentally even after searching first.
Currently I am running RP 10W-30 temporarily because I couldn't find Synchromax. I'm not sure about the mixing, but I can feel a huge improvement even running all RP 10W30 over the Honda MTF. I finally got my hands on some Synchromax and I'll post again when I do the change. I'll be running full Synchromax, no mixing, unless someone can offer a reason why mixing is preferred.
I'm not knocking Honda MTF, or anybody who wants to stay OEM, but I can feel a huge difference, including the elimination of a few "issues" simply through a switch to RP. Now it might be true for all synthetics, but RP seems to stand out to me because I have had nothing but good results.
I think what any of us are looking for is to make an informed decision. So if anyone has had an experience, or has knowledge to the contrary regarding RP, by all means let us know.

Pennz sychromesh really helped my trans, it does not grind as much, and shifts much smoother, just MO

I recently bought a Del Sol, which is my first Honda. It shifted very smooth. Since I didn't know when the trans oil had been last changed, I changed to Honda MTF. Now it is not nearly as smooth as before.
I wish I knew what was in it before. I may try the RP Syncromax or Pennzoil Syncromesh.

Re: (civicflow)
Looking at Royal Purple's site it says to use there motor oil 10w-40 for honda trannies.
The sychromax it says is for manual trans that use automatic trans grade fluids.

somewhere I read that the GM Stuff would cause premature wear on synchros. I mean, a trade off, smoother shifting but harsher wear on synchros. i read it here somewhere, might wanna look into it, cause maybe the synchromax deal ur talking about might be the same trade off too.

Re: (civicflow)
all i can say is, it didn't make shifting any smoother, it made it worse, gears feel kinda sticky, and downshifts harder to manage. not worth the $$
