Paint peeling on green Hondas...WTF??
Does anyone know what is up with Honda's Sherwood Green Pearl (paint code G78P, I believe only available on the EX trim line) peeling all the time??
I have a 1994 Accord EX 4 door painted this color and it is developing a "rash" of the clear coat peeling on the passenger roof line above the doors
. I've seen several other 5th gen Accords with Sherwood Green Pearl doing the same. Did Honda just screw up with this color or what? Is there any way to stop the spread of this or is it eventually gonna have to be repainted??
Anyone else on here with this paint code having the same problem??

I have sherwood green on my 97 ex. I like the color but it is looking like crap. There's so much "orange peel" swirls all over the car. That is why in about 8 days its going in for a brand new paint job.. Only problem is its 2k+.. If its not show quality when it gets out im goin to kick some *** but anyways. I think its just that your car is 14 years old now and if you dont regularly wax it, the clear will probably start to do this. But really I have no idea
I have a 94 accord...I believe cayman green, not sure of the code. My stepsister owned it before me, and it's gotten a regular wash and wax as long as I can remember, washed at least every other week. The paint is still in great shape, given it has a few rock chips, inevitable in montana winter, but no sign of clearcoat flaking. Maintenance is key. I don't know if I'd spend 2K on a paintjob, it better be pretty bitchin'.

2k and you want show room quality?! That's kind tough (for the shop), unless you took to a small place.

Well Its going to be a 03 civic blue (not sure of the paint code) with house of kolor silver flake, they're installing my full mugen lip kit and fixing a few dents here in there and its going to cost 2600. I guess not "showroom" quality persay, but it better look nice. Sorry to jack the thread too.. Sorry to OP

I know what you mean about the pealing. Mine was pealing really bad too. I had the green too.
I think my car came out pretty good for a $500 paint job though

why dont you try wet sanding the whole car? and then checking for orange peel. after just buff and polish and wax should be good as new

Well, I have a 4 yr warranty. Its a 94 Accord. By 4 years time, I should have a different car by then. I cant spend the value of my car for a paint job. Might as well buy a newer car with a good paint job in the first place.
