EG sounds ?'s
Ok, in my 92 cx hatch, theres no spot for some rear speakers, and everyone here is of the general consenus of rear speakers suck anyways.
I have a 4 channel amp, and the previous owner put holes for 6x9's in the cargo cover (i know not the best place)
Should i ...
A) Buy good 6.5's , bridge the Amp, and rock it with only front speakers
B) Buy ok 6x9's and use my polk 6.5's up front not bridged.
thanks

you will need an amp if you run a component system. i have diamond 661a components. they're 6.5 with tweeters and individual cross overs. they're nice and crisp. sounds clear at high volumes. looking to pick up a 10" bazooka to add to the components. i'm sure it will sound 10 times better with some kick to it. i hardly have anyone in the back, so i'm not worried about having rear speakers.
Edit: I have a 92 civic hatchback vx

sounds like i should do the rears, ok, sweet, i wasent really set on them ....
now, i dont want a sub (weight and space, i know how much better it will sound ... ) but any good componet system besides your diamonds?

The stock rear speaker locations are just above the rear seat arm rests, if the car did not come with rear speakers there is a "dummy" cover over the opening it would have a grill "drilled" into it if the car came with rear speakers.
The rear speaker leads are run, and you can easily turn the dummy cover into a grill, however there will be no mounting bracket for the rear speakers behind the dummy cover.
My advice is to go to a wrecker, [pick a part] and find a 92-95 Civic with rear speakers and pull the speaker brackets and grills and mount them in your car, then install a set of standard 6.5" mid-range/mid-bass drivers in the rear, [no tweeters].
If you are up to it you can make your own mounting brackets from MDF and install just about anything you want, I have installed 6x9s and 8" subs back there.

actually that is not entirely true.pull the dummy cover.sometimes the speaker brakets are already in place.i have seen many eg hatches that have a blank cover but do have the brakets already behind them.
I have seen that on other Honda/Acura a few times, but never on a 92-95 Civic hatch, and I have done more then a few of them.
But then anything is possible, and what a great find that would be for the OP.
