Default High Idle

Ok I'm a noob but i couldnt find any posts with simple steps to try and fix this problem.

B18C Motor idles at 2500 when cold. Once fully warm idles at 1100 and fluctuates up and down from 1100 to 1300. used to idle lower like around 800.

Any steps i should take to try and remedy this would be much appreciated.

Vacuum leak, throttle body butterfly not shut/warped, FITV, IACV

Check all that

yep, grab a can of carb cleaner or starting fluid and start spraying around the intake manifold, throttle body area, and also the vacuum hoses on the firewall. when the engine revs higher wherever you just sprayed has the leak.

Ok so i sprayed carb cleaner all around my throttle body and intake manifold, no changes. I also noticed today that when my foot is on the brake the Idle fluctuates between 1000-1200 but when i take my foot off it stays at about 1000.

If anyone has any other advice that would be awsome, thnx.

IACV clean that. MAP clean that. Double check ALL of your vacume lines. Make sure your butterfly isnt cracked open from build up

Vaccum problem? Most likely...but from where. If it has a Fast Idle Thermo Valve on the throttle body, that could be the problem. It raises the idle when its cold and once the engine is warm the idle should drop down to normal. Take your intake tube off and put your finger over the little hole inside the TB. If it is sucking air, then thats your problem. Haynes Manuels are a big help as well. "Write that down"
