Default Auto scanner

Do they make an autoscanner to check a cel for 93's? I've searched and the only scanners I see are post 1996. Cel came on .. on the way to work, got there, turned off my car, turned it back on and the cel didn't come back on. Weather has been freezing here and didn't start the car for a few days wonder if that has anything to do w/ it.

i do not believe so.

in obd-ii cars you are able to use an ob2 scanner which is universal for all vehicles

in obd1 cars, the code varies by make and model, so you have to check it manually.

jump the connector, see the blinks, etc etc

edit: obdii 101: oh and all 1996 and up cars are obdii, it was made law in prior, i believe, in 1995, and all automakers focused on using the same codes, for troubleshooting simplicity reasons.

Use a paperclip with OBD1 to check the code.
