Default Idle Air Control Valve

if you dont hook up the IACV would you gain any power,i ask becasue doesnt it heat up the IM?, i know its not a serious lose in power but i was just asking...

No. Your car will not run properly without it there and functioning.

It's purpose is to allow air to bypass the throttle plate in order to help regulate the engine idle speed.

ok becasue i know a guy that doesnt run his in any of his cars(gsr hatch) it sounded cammed then i figured out he didnt hook up the IACV, he said it gained power....ok thanks its all clear now
