Ever wonder what if an amp is made with quality parts?
I was looking on the web and found this site
http://ampguts.realmofexcursion.com/
I thoiught it was cool so I would pass it on here. Hope it is not against the TOS,
anyway I would be pissed if I bought this amp lol

vs. one of my favorite old school amps (Tarantula)

Yes they are.
Keep in mind, it's not just how much "stuff" is in an amp, but the quality of the "stuff" is also very important, along with the technology.
audiobahn is BLING to the Nth degree...
You would think this amp... http://ampguts.realmofexcursio...1.jpg
is something special and full of special "stuff", but when you look inside, not only is there very little inside a big box... http://ampguts.realmofexcursio...2.jpg even in this pix you can see the poor build quality, and a pretty small power supply for a 5000W amp.

who made that first amp?looks like a high school electronics project or a radio shack special. optimus ftw!!!!! not
Yea I remember back in the day I almost bought an Audiobahn, I am glad I did not. Although there are worse amps out there, they are overrated
and that one amp looks so huge, such a waste of space.

Just for the hell of it i'll post up some pics of a fairly high quality home stereo amp. notice the physical size of the transformer. this amp weighs 107lbs if my memory is correct so everyone with a 15lb receiver thinking it puts out 150W X 5 you're sadly mistaken. This is the Classe CAV-180 and its rated at 180W X5 @ 8ohms

My Pioneer 6200F doesn't look too bad... I've always been a proponent of the fact it has one light, "power" and there was no "show" aspect... it has some decent specs and it just works. No neons, no crazy gimmicks.
