recently upgraded to a SPEC sprung 6 puck clutch kit. now the clutch pedal is super soft, i can even push it using my arm. it grabs fine, so i would think there no air in the system. i bled it but still the same.
also i am getting a lot of chatter, im running a lightened 12lb FW. any ideas?

about the chatter i have no idea but as for the clutch its probably made that way. I put in a exedy OE replacement clutch on my y8 tranny and the pedal feel is really really soft. Though you have a 6 puck clutch so im not sure how that works.

you should research more on that clutch...i'm sure everybody who has that clutch will agree with you about the pedal feel...i've talked to over 5 people who have the exedy oe clutch and pedal feel for everyone of them was soft.

 

i meant i was running exedy, my pp isnt the exedy anymore. so i was thinking it should be stiffer but its actually softer.

 

what kind of pressure plate are you running? are you sure you bled it right?? u tightened the bleeder screw correctly? theres many variables to determine it.. hopefully u can pin out the problem, but i would say its ur PP

Did you replace or at least resurface your flywheel when you installed the new clutch? If not, you could be getting chatter there because the flywheel and old clutch "wore in" together and could have created an unevenness on the surface of the flywheel. The chatter is the result of the clutch friction surface constantly slipping on the face of the flywheel.

 

the pp should be the atleast same as ACT heavy duty pp from the specs. i bled it but still the same, maybe ill try to bleed the whole system.

i ddnt resurface the FW since i was told the material on 6 puck would eat the unevenness on the FW. maybe they'll sit in eventually.

 

You were told this by whom? Sure, eventually the clutch material will wear and the flywheel will wear together, but you're either going to have to put up with the chatter for a good amount of time or else do a lot of 6k revs and keep dropping the clutch until all is golden.

...the latter of which being a completely retarded idea. I know you don't want to drop the transmission again, but I don't see the problem resolving itself quickly or easily by itself.

 

You sure you didnt get any oil anywhere on the friction surfaces when you did the install job?

 

i was clean, it seems to be a lil less chatter now. i guess i got used to driving with 6puck. now i gotta figure out that soft pedal issue!
