Default New Autocross setup.. Possible?

I am selling my Gram Light 57 Pro's for a set of daily driver wheels + a set of wheels to autocross on.

I am not too concerned about the DD wheels at the moment but I have some questions regarding the autocross setup if you guys could give me some advice.

These are the wheels I am looking at.

They are a 4X100 setup I know but 17X7.5". Do you think that I would benefit a +35 offset rather than the +45 or will it make a difference? My car is pretty low but I planned on raising it a bit before events if I can stuff these tires.

Thanks for the help in advance.

these are for an 01 integra?

what size tires were you planning to run on the 17's?

i'd look into some 16's with Azenis 215/45/16
or some 15's if they fit over your breaks. though you are talking about running Azenis so i'm guessing you'll be running in STS class which means you have stock brakes.

look into the Enkei RPF1 in 15x7. they are only 9.5 lbs, and go for like $189 each at Edgeracing.
if you are going to have a seperate set of rims for DD, there is no reason why you need 17's for autox on an integra.

plus the smaller diameter of some 205/50/15 or 225/45/15 would give you some more favorable gearing for a lightly modified car.

you should be ok with an offset from 35mm to just over 40mm with the wider tires. 35mm you may have to roll your fenders a little if you are at an extremely low rideheight and not running much camber.

and of course make sure your alignment is where it needs to be.

They are going on an 01 GSR.

The tires I am getting are these:

Six (6) 245/40-17 Hoosier A3S05 that I am getting a steal on.

This is why I am sticking with 17's.

Oh forgot to add, I will be in Street Modified. I have JDM ITR swap + LOTS of goodies and I wanna go to R Comps this year to bump up the competitiveness.

those 245/40/17 have quite a bit larger Outer diameter then say, a 225/45/15

225/45/15 is 22.8" OD and 20 lbs
245/40/17 is 24.6" OD and 21 lbs
so as long as long as that works with your gearing, not that big a deal besides the increase ride height you will have to run

be careful of used R comps. the 05s will be approaching 2 years old now, depending on manufacture date of course. but the longer they sit out in the open the harder the tires get.

unless the deal is super crazy good, i'd say go with some 225/45/15
they are only 0.3" less treadwidth then the 245/40/17. but a much more "HONDA" friendly outer diameter
not to mention the weight you'll save by buying a decently lightweight 15" rim. probably at least 5-6 lbs per rim less then what those 17's will be.

goodluck in SM. i'm gonna be running azenis on my 88 civic in SM for part of the year just to concentrate on improving my driving. no ITR for me though. built d16z6 turbo. interested to see how it will do.

hopefully not many people will be running the 275/35/15 hoosiers that are supposed to come out this spring.
