why is it , that on some Honda/Acuras , the back of the hood where the Hinges line up are proped up like a inch or two , clearence reasons? like it wont close with the engine swap or something? I just ask because on my old b16 swap , it was so low that the axles sat on a angle , so i had to raise the motor up a inch so the axles sat properly , and then the hood wouldnt close.

 

have you ever seen an H22 shoved into an eg hatch, the motor sticks up about 2-2.5 inches, so most likley is clearence

sometimes people do it to let heat out of the engine compartment, but i dont know how well it works, plus you can get water in like that.

 

everyone i know does it because they think it cools down the engine bay better.
