ok i just finished my d16z6 swap the car turns on fine here's the list the problems:

1.smokes comes out the raditor but the car is not over heating.
2.Dash lights dont come on checked all the fuses and none of them are blown.
3.white smoke comes out the tail pipe when i rev hi.

please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The motor has 124,000 and a new head gasket and a new water pump.

 

well as far as the radiator smoke goes it could just be a bad thermostat but i'm not sure but the exhaust smoke is probably either fucked up cylinder walls, bad piston rings, bad valve stem seals, or just bad valves in general.

White smoke is condensation, I.E. burning coolant.

what should i do?

 

find out how coolant is getting into your com,bustion chamber...the smoke is probably because exhaust is getting into your cooling system and coolant into your combustion chamber which is generally a headgasket or cracked head or cracked block or all of the above. pull your head off and check.

 

fix your head gasket leak....get a coolant combustion gas tester and find out if that is what it is..do a compression test, leak down test..

 

it only smokes when im in vtec. and why doesn't the dash lighting come on?

 

maybe someone goofed torquing the head down eh ?
