Smoked tail lights?
I order the smoke film from CorsportUSA, for the rear. Still waiting for the delivery. I was going to install them "as is", but I really like the look of keeping the reverse lights clear.
Once I get the film I will see what I can figure out about trimming the film so the reverse lights remain clear.
I will let you know how successful I am, and how difficult/easy it was to do. I am thinking it might be as easy as coating the clear section with some mask and trimming the film from the light (without scratching/cutting the lense).

That looks great moonface
I think cutting it out could be slightly hard, though. The cut will most likely be crooked or a little bit off.. and that would just **** me off to no end.

Why?... If you're trying to total out the car for insurance, might as well just merge onto the highway right as a semi is passing. Like the guy above said... there IS a point to the brake lights.. ya know, to let other people know you're braking.

well ive seen professional jobs done where the light is sanded etc and painted to match the black car perfectly, yet when u tap the brakes the light is still very visible. Also at night time when you turn the lights on the light shines through and you couldnt tell that you had them painted. What im asking is w/ that specific paint, can you get it that dark?
You don't have to go with uber dark either. If you get the precut sheets in charcoal, then yeah, it'll be dark as all hell. But if you just go with smoke then you can still see the red and the lights aren't tinted so dark as to not readily see the lights when braking.
I had the charcoal before. It was too dark now I have smoked on my car. I admit it though, I was too lazy to tint the center light.

I actually bought the precuts off of ebay for $24 (shipping included). After seeing people just do the red part of the tail light, I've decided to order the spray tint instead of trying to cut my tint to match that shape (this is NOT easy to do, well not easy to do it perfect). I would think that the spray tint is much easier to do when only wanting to tint certain parts of the light. Check out 8th for the write up, but this is the paint you should be using:

Tamiya is the brank, "smoke" (NOT BLACK) is the color. You can add layer after layer until you achieve the desired darkness (it will appear black if you add enough layers), and the light will still shine though. If you use Tamiya Black, then light WILL NOT shine through (which is illegal, stupid, and you deserve to be rear ended).
Also, that site that I quoted is the cheapest you'll find on the internet. Other sites might list the price as lower, but their shipping rates are 8 to 10 dollars. This is $4.69 a can and after shipping you have to pay just under $11.00. Or go to your local hobby shop and hope its in stock.
