Classic B16 wont start
I have a 88 hatch. Swapped a b16 in it. After a little tinkering with it i had it running good. Everything worked perfect no cel. I was going to go get some temporary piping and mufflers put on, but then my alt went out when i got there. so i just kept jumping it off for about the last 3 miles on the way home. So i pulled the alt. and got it rebuilt. I just put it on and went to fire the beast up.....and it just turned over, no crank. I have spark, good grounds, i fuel coming out of my fuel return line. Fuel pump primes up. Main relay clicks once (fuel pump primes) the clicks off. I sprayed some starting fluid in my itake tube and cranked and sounded good (damn good..open manifold..) but it would then just die as soon as it ate up all the sf. Battery is jumped of to my scion xb so plenty off juice. Went over all mire dpfi to mpfi and vtec wiring mobo jumbo every think looks good. The thing that has me boggled is that it was running and the alt went out so with in a week week and a half i put the new alt. and now it wont crank. Ive gone the achieves many similar problems but no solutions. SO any help, i need it running this weekend so i can put my new clutch, flywheel, invidia brakes and yada yada so this comes to a big hold up now. (b16a1 obd0) WAs running before now its not. THanks
it sounds like your injectors aren't firing...re-check your wiring for your DPFI to MPFI, check for 12v at the injector clips with the key in the on position. Try changing to another ECU or even a PM6 also.
This probably the only thread you need. It has saved me countless times already.

All right im 100% sure that the dpfi to mpfi is correct, i say this because it ran like a champ before the alt. went out.
I will check power again and check the ground. If no power to the injector clip, i would need to rule out a bad resistor box, and then check the wires red/black wires from the resistor box to the injector clips, and also check the yellow/black wires that the resistor box ties into the main harness to correct? And the best way to do this would be a test light to check continuity correct?
I THINK the ecu is ok due to the fact that i get the single red flash when i put the key in in the on position. My buddy has a running b16 crx so i will probally snag his ecu to rule that out.
I have 3 main relays, i tried all of them out, and they all click once pause for 2 seconds and clicks a second time. I also pulled the cover off of all 3 of them and i couldn't see any broken solders on the board, so i THINK that they are all good.
I do know that im getting fuel due to the facts, 1. i hear the fuel pump, 2. i pulled the return line and it pumped gas out, 3. to make shure i bypassed the fuel pump at the main relay and i got the same amount of flow.
Now i read something about fuse #14. I checked along with all other fuses in the interior panel and the engine bay panel.
I thank you all for the info. I will update. And any more info would be much appreciated.
