Is my timing belt about to break? **HELP**
Hey I'm almost certain that this loud rattling noise is coming within my timing belt assembly. When I rev to about 3k rpm I hear a loud scratchy rattling noise. I'm about to take off the cover and inspect.

Hey thanks for responding.
I just took the top part of the cover and the belt looks to be in tip top shape. The only thing that had me wondering was that the front side of the belt was loose.
On a side note, When I first put the motor in we were going to change the timing belt. I got everything off and to the crank pulley bolt and COULD NOT break it loose. We ended up having to put everything back together. I chcked the belt then and still it looked good.

LOL. It is the alternator. I'm not sure why its making that noise though. I know the top bolt is broken on the alternator bracket.
