Default valve cover question

When removing the valve cover, i know its ok to use the gasket as long as its in good condition, but am i supposed to use something to seal it? I dont have a honda dealership around where i live so i wont be able to buy that hondabond stuff. Is there anything else i can use?

it's usually ok to reuse. As long as it isn't broken or cracked. Just use some gasket seal, or silicone lubricant to condition it. The part you really have to worry about is down in the corners, by the cam seals.

ya, as long as it still feels nice and rubbery and isn't borken, cracked, or warped in any way u should be fine. i really wouldnt worry too much about the hondabond as it just makes a HUGE mess. i have NEVER put hondabond after replacing the valve cover, and i have probably taken mine off at LEAST 50 times, never had a prob. just remember not to overtighten those 10mm bolts, they break easy.
