idling problem...driving me nuts...

Default idling problem...driving me nuts...

well i have a 96 ek hb and for now i have my D series motor in there...

i have a idling issue and the first thing i looked at was the IAC but its rivitted on there so i cant really do anything....but CEL is not on...it was about 2 weeks ago and it went away....but ive cleans the tps and checked a couple of things and nothing yet has solved the issue...

NEED SOME HELP HERE AS WELL

you have an idling issue. there are hundreds of issues it could be, enlighten us.

lol thats true...just wrote that up their in a hurry....

when i turn on the car it idles ok....like around 1500 whens it hasnt been turned on the entire day...and when like 2 minutes pass it starts jumping up to 1500 rpm and back down to idle.... this happens consistantly....

my y8 had a similar idle issue and i just swapped out my iacv with one from a crv b20, seems to be working.

yea i guess when i have time im going to take ou the throttle body and clean or replace the IAC.

all civic or b series IAC'S are the same?

no the one i used from the b20 just happened to be the same. i believe since you have a y7 its a 3 wire iacv

yea i just fisnished changing my radiator...and its been doing it for the past couple of days right after i finished installing it..

how can that affect it..i know B series motors if im not mistaken have a bleeder but not a D16y7

idle it with your setting to the hottest and fan motor on high for like 15 mins

sure fluid wont spill? and why does this occur...i mean ive flushed the fluid before and never done this...or should i just go ahead and clean the IACV?

bump for help...cleaned out IACV and still does the problem...vaccum hoses looks fine....and no check engine light!

try checking your TPS see if it reads out the right voltage at idle.

a friend of mine had the same problem with his teggy.... and it was the injector seal... but i dont smell any fuel or see black smoke....and again not CEL ...but i dont want to replace all the seals for no reason....


can they look new and still be bad?

i had surging idle with a bad injector seal. i wasnt throwing a code, didnt smell gas or any excess smoke.

cool...ill try that...so that would be the little tiny O ring at the end of it...or the injector seal that lays on the intake manifold

NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.... ANYTHING THAT HAS TO DO WITH A SENSOR WOULD LIGHT UP THE CEL
