CEL code 8 - Is there such thing as CAM wobble?
I have a Civic with a D15B7 with approximately 175,000 kms on it.
A few months ago, my car threw a CEL code 8, which is a TDC sensor error (a sensor contained in the distributor). Subsequently my car died along with my original distributor. I took my dizzy apart and realized I had oil inside the dizzy.
I had the part replaced with a brand new OEM dizzy, and drove about a month on it, however, the same problem occured. I had that dizzy replaced under warranty. I had the same TDC sensor code appear on my car this week.
I now realize that the problem is not with the distributor or the seal on the dizzy, but with my cam. My theory is that the cam is not spinning straight, and therefore is spinning my distributor rotor in a way such that it wobbles and eventually wears out the interior seal of the dizzy, and oil leaks into my dizzy, and the rotor knocks against one of the TDC sensors. I am 100% sure that this is <U>NOT</U> a simple dizzy seal problem.
I would like to know if anyone else has had this problem before, and what the best way would be to fix it. Is there even such thing as a cam that doesn't spin straight? Would there be a cam guide problem?
If anyone can help me out, I would really appreciate it.

Take your valve cover off and inspect. Look for wear marks and signs of oil starvation i.e. bronzed insides.
If your cams got starved they could have gotton so hot something gave. Or maybe cam journals are wore out of spec.
Doubtful scenarios but simple suggestions to check.
