Default Vitara pistons with Eagle rods for D16Y8. Does block need notching?

Tried searching but found two answers. One said notch the block but one said no need if using Eagle rods. Thanks in advance.

All aftermarket H beam rods wether its Eagle,TT rods,SCAT or any other brand require block notching on D16 blocks.. The rod is just to wide to clear the bootom of the sleeve w/o hitting.
