Default Ever wonder what it looks like when putting a new front end on a 7-series BMW?

Update: The car came back from service today with all the guts put back in the engine bay. The sheetmetal was hung and it was painted....

Im bored and thought some of you may think this is cool.

I snapped a pic from my phone at work so its not the best. Its an aluminum body 7 series that is getting 2 rails/aprons etc.. EVERYTHING from the front end to the front seats is stripped. The rails are acutally glued and riveted in.

Heres the front. Notice on the left the rail is in. On the right theres nothing.

Heres the interior. The only stuff remaining is the main harness which is as thick as my arm. And the vents.

The reason everything has to be taken out is because its riveted from the inside. From the the bottom of the firewall to the top.

Do you have to use a special machine to do frame work on that car?? Like how porsches you need a "JIG" to do correct frame work on it?? I thought that machine was a little different from the standard frame machine i have seen.

Well you figure depending on the model a 7 series will go anywhere from 70 to 130K. Most ins companies would rather pay a 20k repair bill insted of shelling out a 100k to the owner.

Its acutally a portable frame rack. But it does use totally different clamps than the ordinary pinch weld.

exactly. the bill is 34,xxx pretty ****** crazy, but the car is 100K so of course it will get fixed.
