He seemed like a cool guy. But apparently the brother does the pricing. So I got charged more. Total amount was $321, Roland said on the phone, $285. Oh well, still like the job they did.

By the way, he said he felt like you dumped him, haha.

Nah. I'm sure the car can handle a 1.4 drop for a good time before blowing. When aftermarket shocks finally come out, I'll switch it up.

Someone help me out here. I hear and see a lot people changing out to Carbon hood, carbon truck lid, ect. What makes Carbon fiber so good? Is just because it's lighter or does it serve some other performance function? If it's a weight thing, how much are you saving in pounds with a carbon hood?

Btw, the car looks great. Too low for my driveway however. lol

Thanks in advance

CF is alot lighter I don't know how many pounds...but I think for most it's just the look of it.

This is a common misconception. The vast majority of CF parts are simply CF laid over fiberglass and tend to weigh almost as much, if not more than the stock parts. That combined with the fact that they perform very poorly in crash situations makes them less than ideal if you value performance or safety. To truly see the benefits of CF it needs to be baked in an autoclave and this would price it out of reach of 99% of the blingtastic crowd that want them anyways.

(real CF) On a race car, yes.

On a daily driven civic its purely aesthetic.(why unpainted body panels are appealing to some people is beyond me though.)

there was a guy on FG coupe that had the hood and trunk lid .. weighed those (Seibon CF hood/trunklid) and the stock ones... by switching to that, saved a total of like 14-17lbs or something like that, i can dig it up

but for more information, read through this post https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1746073 (don't want to thread jack anymore than i'm doing here lol)

ya on CF parts you save some weight but not much. I have a cf seibon hood and it definately is lighter than stock, however the hood on th FG2 is tiny so it doesnt make that much of a difference at all. Just a looks thing and i like it

The lighter the car is, the less your motor has to work to push the car down the road.

I agree with this, but for 10 to 15 pounds, it must be more about look.

Thanks for the help understanding the CF thing.
